Official Announcement

I do believe in unicorns. I’ve been chasing them all my life. Every once and a while, I catch one—and get the chance to ride.

I am very pleased to announce that my debut novel FORGING A NIGHTMARE has been sold to Eleanor Teasdale at Angry Robot Books by literary agent extraordinaire, Sara Megibow of kt literary.  Here’s the official announcement: http://ktliterary.com/2020/10/sold-congratulations-to-patricia-a-jackson/

I’ve been working on this novel for three years. First as a teaching concept to my first ever Creative Writing class at Central York High School. Thank you, Veronica, Ariana, Susie, Isaac, and Grace for pushing me to bring the idea to life. Thanks to Gabrielle for introducing me to WattPad, where the novella took second place in WattPad’s first ever Online Novella Contest.

Thanks to Nancy Springer for telling me to “Write on!” She advised changing the title from FEAST OR FAMINE because it wasn’t working for her. (Giggle!) Thanks to Izzy and Kaylynn for being the aunties to a maturing yearling of a book.

Special thanks to Bobbi and Yari for being its handlers. Thanks to the Kansas crew: Charlene, Cathy, Marie, and Ryan for help putting it through its paces.

And a heartfelt thanks to Sara Megibow for believing in Michael and Anaba (and me) enough to offer representation.

Tears and thanks to Mrs. Dorothy Beck for introducing a horse-crazy little girl to the world of reading. I wish you were here to see me now. You, too, Mrs. Blakey. You may be gone, but you are never far from my mind or heart.

Much love to the Nightmares in my life that I have loved: Amadeus, Clay, and Niko, Indy, and Maya. (Also stunt doubles Daquari and Bump.)

And to my little one—my inner 8-year old. My Sith Princess. (If you know her name, you are very special.) I will never leave reality without you.

I do believe in unicorns. One will be riding it’s way to you in November 2021!
